START LINE Ilio Point

11:00 AM WING FOIL Start

Start line will open to SUP Foil athletes once all Wing Foilers and their boats clear the area.

11:15 AM SUP FOIL

Start Line will be identified with 2 large Buoys. Exact position will be determined based on the conditions of the race morning.  Intention is to have the line in moderate bumps. Wing Foilers will be allowed a rabbit start.

Escort boats are allowed to drop athletes at posted times and will then stage on Leeward side/South of start.  NO ESCORT Boats will be allowed on the NORTH side of course after 10:30 am. Race communication on 71 & 72. All SUP Foil escort boats and athletes must stay clear, far to the South of the Start area until all Wing Foilers and their boats have cleared the area. The Head Official Boat will communicate when to enter the area on the radio.

FINISH LINE Kaimana Beach

The finish line will be located and marked 50 – 100 yds off the windsock. Final placement will be determined based on surf conditions.

A large Buoy and anchored marked official boat will be set up. Athletes will be asked to finish in between the buoy and boat, seaward of buoy.

We expect a fast and congested finish line and require the following for athlete and escort boat safety and timing needs:

Before Black Point, all escort boats will be required to leave their paddler and exit the course to seaward. Escort Boats will be required to transit around Diamond Head Buoy seaward, before arriving at the finish area from the South. On the approach to the finish after passing Diamond Head Buoy, a no wake zone will be enforced for escort boats. Athletes will be unable to communicate or receive any aid from their escort boat past Black Point. Black Point will be the last chance for any boat and paddler communication or aid. There will be roving official boats/jet skis to ensure paddlers finish the race safely and/or to recover any paddler who exits the race for any reason.
