Like the athletes in this year’s Moloka’i 2 O’ahu Paddleboard World Championships, the ocean drives and inspires the work of this year’s race artist. Seth Womble is an internationally experienced mural artist whose vibrant works and imaginative storytelling have left a mark on walls — and hearts — around the world.
A seasoned athlete with a deep reverence for the ocean, Seth has personally tested himself in the legendary Kaiwi Channel. His artwork for this year’s Moloka‘i 2 O‘ahu event is drawn directly from those powerful experiences — the raw energy, breathtaking views, and deep spiritual presence of the channel itself. It’s a visual reflection of what it means to move through that space — to be humbled by it, inspired by it, and ultimately shaped by it.

Seth’s explains in detail his creative process, “The concept for the 2025 M2O design commemorates the events host Hawaiian culture, past, present, and moving forward through modern petroglyph figures in 4 race disciplines. Their paths are marked by triangles moving towards a common destination. Each triangle is a generation, individual, or ancestor that has made the voyage across the Kaʻiwi Channel, paying tribute to their legacy. A cloud shrouded Diamond head is depicted with a view from the west, as the racers will see it on their approach from Molokai. Ripples across the ocean surface help push the voyagers along adding thrill, challenge and even moments of rest to the crossing. The ʻiwa bird and mālolo fish, depicted as simple outlines, have long been considered companions, messengers, and ʻaumakua (spirit guides) for ocean travelers.”
In addition, the 2025 Virtual Edition 6.0 will feature a custom hat and towel with each entry.
Registration is open for the 16-mile Virtual Edition 6.0 for interested paddlers.
